Q: Do I have to be an ICES member to attend the Day of Sharing (DOS)?
A: No, you do not have to be a member to attend a chapter meeting. However, our "policy" is typically "first time a visitor, second time a member." We invite you to come to a meeting and check us out--see if you want to be a part of ICES and Minnesota ICES.

Q: Can I be a member of another state's ICES group?
A: No, your ICES membership is based on the state in which you reside. While you are certainly welcome and encouraged to attend other states' Day of Sharing, your membership will be based on the state where you live.

Q: Can I bring a guest/non-member with me to a Day of Sharing?
A: Absolutely. Anyone is welcome at our sharing days. We charge a door fee on those days to members and guests alike.

Q: How often and where do you meet?
A: Minnesota ICES meets twice a year. Since we are a statewide organization, meetings move around the state so that all members share the driving. Check out our Events page for meeting dates and locations.

Q: Do I have to pre-register?
A: We highly encourage pre-registration so our demonstrators can plan accordingly and we have plenty of handouts for everyone. However, it is not required.

Q: What is a Chinese Auction?
A: A Chinese auction is a way for the MN of ICES to raise money for the MN State Chapter of ICES. You bring items from home (they do not have to be cake decorating related),that you want to donate to benefit the state treasurey. Tickets are sold and you're able to place tickets in a container for items you'd like to have. The person that has the most tickets in the container at the end of the day is the new owner of the item. This helps the club and you get rid of those unused items while making a little money too.
